Administration’s attempt to demolish Deity Shani Temple in Delhi : Hindus protest
New Delhi – Hindus fiercely protested against the administration officials who came to demolish the Deity Shani temple at Mandawali in East Delhi. Activists of Hindu organisations raised slogans against the administration’s action. There was also clash between the people present at the spot and security forces. The administration claims that this temple was built under a tree a year ago. Large number of people reached the temple site and protested against its demolition.

Earlier, administration had demolished Deity Shiva temple in Shivpuri. The administration took this action in the presence of the Police. The administration said that the complaints about illegal construction of temples are coming from the Public Works Department. Hence, the Hindus demanded action against the Public Works Department.
The administration had tried to demolish Deity Hanuman temple built at Bhajanpura on Wazirabad road and Chand Baba’s mazar (Muslim tomb) built on ‘Beach Road’ a few days ago but the action could not be taken due to opposition.
