Monsoon to hit 16 States within the next fortnight : India Meteorological Department

New Delhi – The India Meteorological Department has forecast the arrival of monsoon in 16 States within the next fortnight. Seasonal rain has started in a few States from 19th June 2023, including Delhi, Bihar, north of Uttar Pradesh, and the Bay of Bengal coast. There can be a heavy onslaught of monsoon in the next 24 hours in Assam, Bengal’s Himalayan region, Sikkim, and west Madhya Pradesh.

Heatwave in next two days in ten States

As per the weather forecast, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Bengal, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu are likely to face heatwave conditions and an alert notice has been issued. The union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya held a high-level meeting on heatwave management across the country. Heavy and continuous rain will hit Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Ganga-region of Bengal, and eight north-eastern States in the next fifteen days.

‘Biparjoy’ cyclone clears 20% deficit in rainfall !

The ‘Biparjoy’ cyclone is clearing the deficit in rainfall in the country. There is 37%  excess rainfall compared to the normal rainfall in North-West India. The heavy rainfall due to ‘Biparjoy’ in the last four days in Gujarat and Rajasthan has cleared a 20% of the deficit in seasonal monsoon.
