Do not engage non-Hindus in temple work at Badrinath and Kedarnath : Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati
Haridwar (Uttarakhand) – While talking to journalists here, Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati of Jyotish Peetha demanded that non-Hindus should not be engaged in works such as construction, beautification, expansion, etc. related to the temples as per the ‘Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Act’.
Shankaracharya added, “The Act was made in 1939 and has been amended several times. Badrinath and Kedarnath Temples are managed as per the provisions of this Act. The Act says that ‘No non-Hindus can be engaged in any work related to these Temples’. Therefore, attention needs to be paid to this”.
Shankaracharya said it is a tradition in Sanatan Dharma that Shankaracharya should be present when the doors of Badrinath-Kedarnath are opened, and He is continuing this tradition.
Badrinath Temple opened for devotees
Badrinath (Uttarakhand) – The doors of the Badrinath Temple in Uttarakhand have been opened for devotees. Hundreds of devotees were present on the occasion despite snowfall in the area. The Temple is closed during winters every year and opened in the summers. The Char-Dham Yatra commenced on 22nd April 2023 in Uttarakhand. (The Char-Dham are – Badrinath, Dwarka, Puri and Rameswaram. It is believed that every Hindu should visit the Char-Dhams during their lifetime.)
