The decision of multiplex theaters associations

Chennai – The Tamil Nadu Multiplex Association has cancelled the screening of the movie ‘The Kerala Story’ across the State from Sunday, 7th May.  This organisation has said that this movie can be a threat to law and order.  Many political organisations in Tamil Nadu have also threatened to ‘close down theatre if this movie is screened in any theatre’.

A demand to ban the movie was also made to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (Dravid Pragati Sangh) Government in Tamil Nadu.  On the other hand, this movie is getting good response across the country.  The movie has earned Rs 20 crore in the last 3 days in the country.

Editorial Viewpoints

  • This is called oppression in a democratic country !  Such an unannounced ban on a film that exposes the conspiracy of Jihadi Muslims is against the basic liberties of citizens. The Union Government must intervene now.
  • What else can be expected in the State of Hindu-hating and Muslim-loving DMK Government ?
