Raigad (Maharashtra) – Muslims at Mahad in Khalapur Taluka stole a cow from a Hindu’s barn and slaughtered it by slitting cow’s throat. With the cow, they also killed a calf. But it is not yet known from where they brought the calf. The Police have arrested Shahanbaz Hussain and Abdul Latif Bedekar. And they have demolished the barn where they slaughtered the Cow and calf with the help of JCB. The villagers said the cow that was killed by Shahanbaz was pregnant.
Tushar Patil of Mahad had tied his cow in his cowshed. On 2nd May when he went to the cowshed/barn he found that the cow was not there. He searched but could not find the cow. On the 3rd of May, while he was searching for the cow, he saw straw and fodder near the Shahanbaz’s house. He became suspicious and looked inside and saw the corpse of a cow and calf. Their neck had been slit.
He informed the villagers about it and filed a complaint at the Khalapur Police Station. The Police, after Tushar Patil’s complaint, arrested Shahanbaz and filed a case against him.
Police appealed to the villagers to keep calm and not to provoke agitation in the village

Does the Police make such appeals to the Muslims ? It is well known that the Police, who dictate to the Hindus, kneel before the Muslims. |
When the Police told the villagers to keep calm and not incite others in the village. The Hindus reacted ‘We are peaceful; we practice restraint, that is the reason occurrences of such things increase. This is about our sentiment that Hindus are tired of filing complaints. There is no fear of the law. The Police should act in a way that no one will dare to repeat this act’.

From this, it is clear that the Muslim who dares to steal a cow from a Hindu and slaughter it has no fear of the law. What measures will the Government take to create a feeling of fear for the law in the mind of such individuals ? |
