The incident took place in an area dominated by the Muslim population. The young Hindu men were going on their motorcycles when they were caught by a Muslim mob present there and handed them over to the Police. After some time, the patrolling Police also reached the place of the incident and they immediately filed FIR under sections 153 A (attacking some religion/group), 143, and 120 B.
Advocate Khush Khandelwal said,1. Arrest under section 153 A or any other section for raising slogans of ‘Jai Shriram’ is wrong. If raising slogans of ‘Jai Shriram’ is a crime, every day giving ‘baang’ on hooters, and disturbing Hindus in their worship, besides, creating noise pollution and harassing citizens is also a crime and action should be taken against mosques. 2. India is a regionally secular country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari; therefore, taking action against Hindus or people of other communities and registering cases against them due to the majority population being Muslim in certain areas, is wrong. 3. Our legal fight will continue against those, who register cases against Hindus to purposely harass them. |
