M Gandhi had no degree : Lt Governor, J&K

Gwalior (MP) – “Who will say that Gandhi ji was uneducated? I don’t think anyone can say that. But did you know that he did not have a single university degree or qualification? There are many of us who think Mahatma Gandhi had a law degree. No, he did not. His only qualification was a high school diploma. He qualified to practice law but didn’t have a degree. He had no degree, but look how educated he was! He became the father of the nation!” Manoj Sinha, Lt Governor of Jammu-Kashmir said while delivering a lecture at I.T.M College, during Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Memorial lecture series. Manoj Sinha was trying to impress upon the students that only getting a degree didn’t amount to being educated.

Congress party has raised objection to the statement made by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha. Piyush Babele, Madhya Pradesh Congress President Kamal Nath’s media advisor, said that BJP is cornered since doubt is raised about Prime Minister Modi and Union Minister Smriti Irani having degrees. M Gandhi was a barrister. Why was he being dragged into this matter ?
