More than 900 female students poisoned in Iran
Parents protests against the Government in Iran
Tehran (Iran) – In Iran, the issue of female students studying in schools being poisoned is becoming complicated. In some parts of the country, protests were carried out by the parents of these students. During these protests, they opined that those giving poison are like Islamic State. Prior to this, the President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi had claimed that the enemy countries are responsible for this act of poisoning and through this there is an attempt being made to create an environment of fear and insecurity within the country. The Home Minister of Iran has ordered an investigation in this matter.

1. Opposition leaders say that Islamic fundamentalists are behind this act of poisoning.
2. One senior Muslim cleric has said that people have lost trust in the Government due to the statements made by the Government. Due to this, there is confusion amongst the people.
3. In the recently concluded Human Rights meeting of the United Nations in Geneva, this issue was brought up. At that time, the Deputy Education Minister of Iran had accepted that this was done to prevent the female students from going to schools. Later on, he retracted this statement.
4. The first incident of poisoning of female students was reported last year on 30th November when more than 50 students were poisoned in the city of Qom. One of the female students lost her life. Reuters has reported that in the 10 of 31 Provinces of the country, female students from 30 schools were poisoned.
