New Delhi – A video of a young woman burning the Manusmriti is going viral on social media.  Some people are supporting this video while many others claim that this video is hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus.

Priya Das (the woman in this video) can be seen with a cigarette in her hand. She is sitting next to the stove where she is cooking some chicken. Then she proceeds to take the Manusmriti placed next to her on the ground and burns it on the stove. She then lights the cigarette in her hand by holding it to the flames of the Manusmriti. She then says that burning the Manusmriti is just a symbolic & temporary event. Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar has made it clear that the purpose behind it is not to attack any individual but to attack the incorrect thoughts and the hypocrisy behind it.
