Puri (Odisha) – Entry of non-Hindu community members is prohibited in Jagannath Puri. IRS (Indian Revenue Service) officer Reshma Lakhani forcefully entered the famous Jagannath temple. When Superintendent Roshan Yadav tried to explain her that non-Hindus are prohibited to enter this temple, Reshma did not listen to him and entered the temple.

Later she got Roshan Yadav transferred 400 km away from Puri. After this information came to light, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has been requested to take action against Reshma Lakhani.

Editorial viewpoint

Such officers who forcefully enter temples where non-Hindus are prohibited should be fired ! Those who hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus should be booked and punished !
