Education officer cancels the order to remove picture-frames of Deities from all schools and colleges in Dhule District
Outcome of BJP Yuva Morcha’s District President Rohit Chandode’s warning to stage agitations
Dhule (Maharashtra) – Mr M S Desale, an officer from Jilla Parishad’s secondary education issued an order through a letter dated 6th of January 2023, to all schools and colleges in Dhule asking them to replace pictures of all Hindu Deities with pictures of national leaders, but BJP Yuva Morcha (BJPYM)’s district president and advocate Rohit Chandode strongly objected to such order. He warned to stage agitations in case the order was not withdrawn. As a result, the education officer sent a letter to all principals withdrawing his order, on the same day. (Congratulations to advocate Rohit Chandode, the district president of BJPYM for raising objection to the education officer’s anti-Hindu Dharma order and fighting for its cancellation ! Hindus should learn from this incident and oppose in a similar manner if they come across anti-Dharma and anti – Hindu Deities attitudes. – Editor)
Letter written by MPSP to Dy director (education) asking for the removal of pictures of Hindu Deities !
MPSP’s President Pavan Korate had demanded through a memorandum submitted to the Dy Director (Education), Nasik to replace pictures of Hindu Deities displayed in all schools and colleges with pictures of Jyotiba Phule, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, ‘Karmaveer’ Bhaurao Patil, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Shahu Maharaj, and Savitribai Phule. Accordingly, the education officer, M S Desale issued orders for the removal of Hindu Deities pictures (such as Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Sharada, etc.) to the principals of all schools and colleges in Dhule District on the 6th of January 2023. There is Desale’s signature on the letter.
Ban should be imposed even on prayers and ‘burqa’ in convents and Urdu schools !
The letter sent by the education officer generated strong reactions amongst Hindus and some of the teachers and students complained to advocate for Rohit Chandode. Taking cognizance of the complaints and the letter, he met the education officer and gave a letter to him. It was stated in the letter that all Urdu schools and convent schools should also be forced to display pictures of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj, Veer Savarkar, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ban should also be imposed on these schools for the display of religious symbols like crosses, religious pictures, prayers, etc. Orders should be issued immediately to stop the use of religious attires like ‘burqa’ and ‘hijab’. Agitations will be staged from the 9th of January 2023 in front of the education office in case the other orders were not issued.
The education officer Desale panicked with Advocate Chandode’s demands, and he withdrew his first letter and order on the same day, advising all schools and colleges accordingly. People from all political, social, and educational circles are appreciating advocate Chandode’s stand.
Advocate Rohit Chandode spoke to the representative of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ when he said, “Displaying pictures of Hindu Deities in schools and colleges is a very old tradition. The picture of Goddess Saraswati is displayed as the Deity of knowledge; therefore, there is no need to oppose it. On making a demand to remove all religious pictures from Urdu and convent schools and to display pictures of national leaders, secondary education officer M S Desale realised his mistake and apologised, and he sent another letter to all schools and colleges canceling his earlier orders.” |
