NIA reveals in special Court !

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed in a special Court that the leaders of the banned Jihadi organisation ‘Popular Front of India’ (PFI) in Kerala were in touch with some of the top terrorists of the jihadi terrorist organisations Islamic State and Al Qaeda. These leaders have been arrested after PFI was banned. The NIA has sought more time to interrogate these leaders.

1. The NIA further told the Court that terrorist organisations like Islamic State and Al Qaeda are using terrorist organisations in India to carry out terror activities where they cannot operate on their own. PFI leaders were in touch with leaders of Jihadi terrorist organisations. So it is necessary to investigate them thoroughly. Important evidence has been obtained regarding the anti-national activities of PFI. The investigation also revealed that PFI leaders used social media to induct youths into terrorist activities.

2. After hearing the information given by NIA, the Court allowed more time for the investigation. The NIA had sought 90 days’ time to conduct further investigations and file a charge sheet, which the Court granted.

3. Hundreds of PFI workers were arrested in raids across the country on 22^nd September this year. 13 people were arrested from Kochi, Kerala. After that, this organisation was banned.
