Evidence was planted in the computer to implicate Stan Swamy : US laboratory

Washington (USA) – A US-based forensic laboratory ‘Arsenal Consulting’ has claimed in its report that digital evidence in Koregaon Bhima violence in Maharashtra was planted in the computer of Father Stan Swamy, an urban Naxal and a so-called social activist.

1. According to the report, the computer’s digital footprint was first hacked with spyware. After this, the hacker planted about 50 files in the computer. Documents proving links between Swamy and Maoist rebels were kept in a computer drive. The lab also claimed that Swamy’s computer was first hacked on 20th July 2017. Then on 5th June 2019, the documents were sent to his computer.

2. In the Koregaon Bhima violence case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had alleged in 2020 that Stan Swamy had links with Naxalites and was particularly in touch with the banned Maoist outfit.
3. Stan Swamy was in Taloja Jail since October 2020. He died there in 2021 due to illness.
