The Supreme Court rejected the petition demanding an inquiry into locked rooms of Taj Mahal !
New Delhi – The Court has rejected the Public Interest Litigation made by BJP Leader Rajneesh Singh saying that ‘Taj Mahal is originally a Shiva Temple’ a scientific inquiry should be made to find out the truth about this. The Court said that the petition is a ‘Publicity Interest Litigation’. In the petition, demand had been made to open the 22 locked rooms and an investigation of the facts. The Bench of Justice M.R. Shah and Justice M.M. Sundresh refused to interfere in the decision of the Allahabad High Court.
The petitioner Rajneesh Singh, a dentist by profession, approached the SC challenging the May 12 order passed by the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad HC which found the petition a mockery in the name of public interest litigation.
