The Russian Government blocked social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter in March 2022. According to a Moscow Court, Facebook is engaged in terrorist activities. According to the Court, Meta allowed Ukrainian Facebook users to post information and therefore promote violence against Russians. However, Meta has denied the allegations. Earlier this year, Mark Zuckerberg was also included on the list of 963 prominent Americans banned from entering Russia.
Editorial viewpoint
While Russia blocked Facebook on account of anti-national activities, India has not blocked social media that frequently broadcast incorrect maps of the country. |
