SC allows NGO fighting for victims to approach Centre seeking probe
Hindu killing in Kashmir and their escape
New Delhi – Supreme Court has permitted the NGO ‘We, the Citizens’ to approach the Centre seeking a probe into the killing of Hindus and Sikhs in 1990 in Jammu – Kashmir. The Court has said that the petitioner may contact the respective units, instead of bringing the case to us.
1. Demand is also being made for the census of the population of the victims living in various parts of the country, who were forced to leave the State due to severe torture.
The #SupremeCourt on Friday declined to entertain a plea seeking an SIT probe into the targeted killings of #KashmiriPandits which led to their exodus from the valley https://t.co/0L6MBUJvP4

2. Despite registering hundreds of crimes related to Hindus’ murders, no justice is being done for more than 30 years. The environment in the Kashmir valley was such that criminals, terrorists and anti-nationals appeared to have been given free hand to disturb the law and order. Therefore Hindu families had to leave Kashmir; such immigrants are living as refugees in various other parts. Thus their fundamental rights are being violated; because they cannot return to their homes in Kashmir due to a lack of arrangements of their safety. Jammu-Kashmir Government never bothered to inquire into their pathetic state of affairs.
