SC dismisses PIL seeking the arrest of Yati Narsinghanand and Jitendra Tyagi (formerly Waseem Rizvi)
The demand for banning Tyagi’s book ‘Mohammad’ was also dismissed
New Delhi – The Supreme Court rejected a petition filed against Mahant Yati Narsinghanand of Dasna Temple in Ghaziabad Uttar Pradesh and Jitendra Tyagi (formerly known as Waseem Rizvi) Ex-President of the Shia wakf Board, seeking their arrest. The Indian Muslim Shia Isna Ashari Jamaat had filed this petition. In it, they have demanded banning the book ‘Mohammad’ by Tyagi.

But the bench comprising CJI Uday Lalit, and Justice S R Bhat rejected the plea filed under Section 32 of the Indian Penal Code. Earlier the top Court had dismissed Tyagi’s petition of striking out 26 Verses from the Holy Quran and fined him Rs. 50,000.
