1. Dr Swamy citing the Kesavananda Bharati case said in the petition that the Preamble is a part of the basic structure of the Constitution, and the Government has no right to change it.
2. Earlier, advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain had filed a petition in July 2020 with the same demand. Secularism and socialism are political ideas and are being imposed on citizens. These views are contrary to the historical and cultural views of India. It is also illegal in terms of violation of the right to freedom of expression under Article 19(1) (a) and freedom of religion under Article 25 of the Constitution, he said.

Why do you have to make such a demand ? The patriots and devout Hindus feel that the Central Government should be proactive and delete these words on its own. |
