1. In this Letter Ghulam Nabi Azad has written that all the senior leaders of the party were sidelined once Rahul Gandhi entered politics. A new group of inefficient inexperienced individuals started emerging in the party. Later this very same group of people started running the party.
2. After Rahul Gandhi entered politics and especially after he became the Vice-President of the party in January 2013, the entire consultative system that existed earlier was completely destroyed.
3. Rahul Gandhi, in front of the media tore the Congress Government’s ordinance asking for a prohibition and a suspension of the membership of MLAs accused of crimes. This was a perfect example of his immaturity.
4. Due to this immature & childish behaviour of Rahul Gandhi, the then Prime Minister and the Central Government lost all control of their authority. This particular act played a major role in the defeat of the Congress-led coalition Government in 2014.
5. Under your (Sonia Gandhi) leadership and especially under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi the Congress was totally routed & humiliated in the 2014 General elections. The party has lost 39 out of the 49 assembly elections held between 2014 and 2022. The party managed to win only 4 assembly elections individually and 6 assembly elections with the help of alliances with other parties. Unfortunately today the Congress is in full power only in 2 States of India and in 2 other States as a minor coalition partner.
