The information that the Christians are attacked is untrue ! – claim of Central Government in the Supreme Court
New Delhi – A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court that Christians are attacked in the country hence, issue an order to the Central Government to stop the attacks. The Central Government has said on this petition that the information given is untrue and based on a self-serving objective. The PIL has been filed by Archbishop Of Bangalore Diocese Dr Peter Machado along with the National Solidarity Forum, the Evangelical Fellowship of India. The hearing of this petition has been scheduled on 25th August.

The petitioners claimed to have based the petition on information gathered through sources like press reports, independent online databases and findings of various non-profit organisations. Enquiries reveal that the majority of the incidents alleged as Christian persecution in these reports were either false or wrongfully projected, said the Central Government.
