Hike in fuel prices in Bangladesh; petrol by 51% and diesel by 42%
Citizens fearing situations like Sri Lanka might arise
Dhaka (Bangladesh) –Bangladesh has hiked the petro prices by 51% and diesel 42% which is the biggest hike in the petrol price in the country’s history. It is mentioned in one of the reports that this hike was the biggest since the independence of Bangladesh in 1971. People are standing in long queues at petrol pumps due to the hike in fuel prices. Some petrol pumps around Dhaka have stopped working.

Due to extreme hikes, people of Bangladesh are scared that they might have to face situations like that in Sri Lanka. Movements have begun in many places against which the Police are active. News also states that some agitations had turned violent.
