Delhi – The Delhi High Court has rejected a petition seeking to ban kite flying in Delhi. Kite flying is considered a cultural activity by the High Court. In addition, the Court ordered the State Government and the Police to comply with the order of the National Green Tribunal to ban the sale of Chinese thread used to fly kites.

According to Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subrahmonium Prasad, the National Green Tribunal has already banned the use of Chinese synthetic thread. A notification has also been issued by the Delhi Police in this regard. Violators are also subject to action. According to the Court, kite flying is a cultural act and is also viewed as a religious act in some regions.
