Six year old girl raped by a Madarsa cleric in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh
Sambhal (UP) – A maulvi (cleric in madarsa) from Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested for raping a 6-year-old child who went to learn Islamic religious texts from the maulvi. Police have registered a case against the maulvi based on the complaint filed by the relatives of the victim girl. Following that, the Police arrested the accused maulvi.

The 6-year-old victim child went to the mosque for learning Islamic texts as usual. The maulvi named Uwais attacked and sexually assaulted the child. The victim girl somehow reached home and informed the family members about the rape; however, the victim girl’s family suppressed the matter fearing disrepute and warned the girl not to tell anyone about this incident. Later the relatives of the victim girl discussed among themselves and registered a case.
CO Jitendra Kumar said, ‘The Police have booked the accused maulvi based on the complaint filed by the victim girl’s mother. The victim has been sent to the District hospital for medical examination. Further legal action is underway in this matter’.
