Christian missionary school in Bareilly, UP orders Sikh students not to wear turbans, Kirpan and Kada to school

Sikh organisations and parents oppose it

Bareilly (UP) – Sikh students have been banned from wearing turbans, kirpan (small knife) and Kada to school by a Christian missionary school, St. Francis. The school management has eloquently said that if anyone wants to wear these things, they can take a TC.

1. Manjit Singh Bittu, President of the Youth Khalsa group, held a meeting with the parents of the Sikh students in the Gurdwara. Later they protested outside the school.
2. Former President of the Model Town Gurdwara Committee, Malik Singh Kalra, alleged that Sikh students were harassed by the school for opposing the school, so no parent is ready to openly oppose this decision by the school. Kalra has demanded the removal of the school Principal, Sister Lismin. Other Sikhs have asked the State CM Yogi Adityanath take action against the school and force it to withdraw its above order.

Editorial viewpoint

Such schools should be derecognised and those concerned should be imprisoned for hurting the religious sentiments of Sikhs. It will be the apt punishment.
