Mahua Moitra : For me, Shri Mahakalimata is a goddess who loves meat and accepts alcohol
Obscene support from Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra on Kali poster
Kolkata (Bengal) – Speaking to India Today, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra stated, “For me, Shri Mahakalimata is a Goddess who accepts alcohol and loves meat.” Everyone has a different opinion, so I don’t mind if you disagree. There are many forms of Goddess. Therefore, I have no problem with Kali’s appearance. She made the above statements while showing her support for the portrait of an actress dressed as a Goddess smoking a cigarette on a poster in reference to the documentary Kali.

MP Moitra said that how you look at God is important. If you go to Bhutan, Sikkim, whiskey is offered to God during morning worship there. But if you go to Uttar Pradesh and offer whiskey as prasad in the temple, the religious sentiments of the people there will be hurt. If you go to Tarapith, you will see the sadhus in the temple of Kalimata smoking and they are the ones who worship Kalimata. Even though I am a Hindu, I have the freedom to look at Kalimata the way I want, and people should have it too. You should have the freedom to worship your Deity as you wish. The right to worship should be personal. I should have freedom as long as I do not interfere in your area.
Complaints were filed in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai
There have been complaints filed against the Kali documentary’s maker, Leena Manimekalai, in New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Mumbai for the poster on Kali Mata smoking. It has been demanded that she be arrested.
