Practice of marrying oneself is against Hindu Dharma, BJP claims

Vadodara (Gujarat) – Sologamy (the practice of marrying oneself) is against Hindu Dharma. Therefore, the BJP has opposed the decision of a young lady from Gujarat to marry herself. The 24-year-old girl Kshama Bindu from Baroda is set to marry herself on 11th June at the Shri Harihareshwar Temple.
Gujarat | I’m against the choice of venue, she’ll not be allowed to marry herself in any temple. Such marriages are against Hinduism. This will reduce the population of Hindus. If anything goes against religion then no law will prevail: BJP leader Sunita Shukla (03.06) https://t.co/Jf0y13WOiE pic.twitter.com/3Cus9JMwsR

Gujarat BJP leader Sunita Shukla said, ‘Kshama Bindu’s mental state is not normal. She will not be permitted to marry in such a manner in any temple. This kind of self-marriage will reduce the population of Hindus. Her decision of sologamy is inspired by the “Anne with an E” web series in Canada’. This wedding is a symbol of self-love ! – Kshama Bindu
Kshama Bindu said on sologamy, ‘Like other girls, I have a dream of becoming a bride too, but I don’t want to get married in the traditional way. So, I have decided to get married without a groom. This wedding will be a symbol of self-love’. This is the first such wedding in India. In the United States, Linda Barken had married herself in 1993.
