Islamabad (Pakistan) – ‘I was intentionally trying to injure Sachin Tendulkar during a Test match in Karachi in 2006’, admitted former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar. He gave this confession in an interview with the sports website ‘Sportskeeda’.

Shoaib Akhtar said, ‘I was determined to hurt Sachin at any cost. The then captain Inzamam Ul-Haq was telling me to bowl in a straight line, but I wanted to hurt Sachin. For this I bowled him in the direction of his helmet. I was even happy after one of the deliveries hit his helmet, but when I watched the video of the incident, I saw that Sachin had managed to save his head’.

Editorial Viewpoint

  • Pakistani players’ hatred towards India ! This shows that Pakistani players do not play sportingly with India. Therefore, India should not play any of the sport game with such a country !
  • The International Cricket Council should take note of this and take action against such players !
