Other countries do not have the right to comment on the constitutional rights of Indians, India slams US report
US report says minorities are being attacked in India
New Delhi – The US State Department has released a report on International Religious Freedom. As a naturally pluralistic society, India values religious freedom and human rights; however, in this report, a senior US official has unnecessarily commented about India on the basis of incomplete information. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has slammed the US report on religious freedom in India by saying that other countries have no legal right to comment on the constitutional rights of its citizens. In a statement, Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, called on to refrain from conducting analysis based on biased views and information prompted by certain motives.
