The Supreme Court will hear the Gyanvapi Mosque case today

New Delhi – On 18th May, a hearing was scheduled to discuss the survey of the Gyanvapi Mosque. However, upon the Hindu party’s time request the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing to 20th May. All parties have been asked to submit reports at the scheduled time. Hindu party advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain told the Court that our fellow senior advocate H.H. Hari Shankar Jain is not in good health. Therefore, the Court should hear the case tomorrow. The Supreme Court has also adjourned the Varanasi Court hearing. It has been ordered by the Supreme Court that the case from the Civil Court be adjourned until 19th May.  Earlier, a report on the survey of Gyanvapi Mosque has been submitted to the Varanasi court. Court Commissioner Vishal Singh has refused to comment on the report. He said that any disclosure can be made only after the Court reviews it.

The Gyanvapi Mosque management committee has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the survey. The management said that the survey conducted in the area of ​​Gyanvapi Mosque violated the provisions of the Place of Worship Act, 1991. On the other hand, the Hindu Sena had filed an interlocutory petition in the case seeking dismissal of the petition of the Mosque management committee.  The Court had refused to adjourn the hearing in the Civil Court in connection with the survey. The Court had directed the District Collector to protect the Shivlinga area found during the survey.
