Case of attack on BJP MP’s house : Trinamool Congress leader’s son arrested
New Delhi – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested the son of a Trinamool Congress leader from Jagaddal in Bengal’s North 24 Parganas District. In September last year, some people planted 45 bombs near the house of BJP MP Arjun Singh. His house was attacked at that time by three indigenous bombs. In the course of the investigation, Namit Singh, who is the son of Trinamool Congress Corporator Sunita Singh from Jagaddal municipality, was arrested.

Jagaddal’s Trinamool Congress MLA Somnath Shyam has alleged that the NIA is taking instructions from Arjun Singh. We will address this in Court. Singh, on the other hand, has denied the allegations against him. In early May, the local Police transferred the investigation of the case to NIA.
Editorial viewpoint
It has been proven time and again that many activists of the ruling Trinamool Congress party of Bengal have been involved in criminal activities ranging from making bombs to murders. Is this not a mockery of Indian democracy that such a political party rules over one of its largest states ? A party like this should be banned. |
