Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, General Secretary of the Board, said that people would not accept the Uniform Civil Code. (On what basis is Maulana saying this ? – Editor) Therefore, the Central Government should not take any such step. The Constitution of India gives every citizen the right to live as they wish. It is their fundamental right. Due to this right, the minorities and tribals are allowed to have different personal laws according to their customs, traditions and beliefs. Personal law does not interfere with the Constitution in any way. Instead, the personal laws maintain trust between minority and majority communities.
AIMPLB alleged that Uniform civil code issue has been brought up to divert attention from real issues and promote an agenda of hatred and discriminationhttps://t.co/of2GiLJMI9

A few days back, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya of UP said that the State Government was planning to enact Uniform Civil Code across UP. A country must have a single common law for all the people. We have to get out of the system of one rule for one person and a separate law for another. We opine that there should be a Uniform Civil Code across the country.
