Why should only Hindus always adjust and be tolerant ? : Shri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Muth, Karnataka
Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt, Karnataka raises a valid question
Shivamogga (Karnataka) – “Change cannot take place when only one side is ready to bow down. Our Gurus brought Muslims to Muths and welcomed them, but no Muthadheesh has been invited or any worship (such as Shri Satyanarayan Puja) taken place nor a Hindu festival celebrated in any mosque. How long should this one-sided trend continue ? Why should we always keep adjusting with them ?”, asked Shri Vishwaprasanna Swamiji of Pejawar Muth while talking to the media.
Swamiji added :
• Everyone wants peace and harmony in society, but our festivals are opposed. I don’t know what kind of justice is this. Hindus are always expected to adjust, despite so many attacks on them. What kind of justice is this ?
• Peace will prevail in this country only when both sides cooperate. People do not seem to fear the Government any more. Incidents causing fear amongst Hindus are taking place. The Government should take action so that similar incidents do not take place in the future.
• Instances of stone-pelting at the processions taken out on festivals such as Shriram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti this year were very disturbing. Such incidents are taking place in a country where Shriram and Hanuman were born. Attacks on Hindu festivals, even when they are the majority in this country is not right. Talking about unity or integrity is futile when such things are happening around us. Such attacks are not expected in the future.
