Why Nepal cannot be declared a ‘Hindu Nation’ if other countries can be declared Islamic and Christian countries ? : Prem Ale
Kathmandu (Nepal) – “If some countries can be declared as Islamic states or as Christian states and still adopt the democratic system, then why can’t Nepal be declared as a Hindu democratic country ?” questioned Prem Ale, Nepal’s Minister of Tourism and Culture. He was speaking at the World Hindu Federation’s two-day meeting of its Executive Council. More than 150 representatives from 12 countries, including Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, the United States, Germany, and the UK, were attending this Executive Council Meeting. He further said, “I ask the Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Centre, The CPN-UML, and the Madhesi parties to come forward to declare Nepal as a Hindu Nation”. Nepal, the only Hindu state in the world, was declared a secular State in 2008.
Stating that the rise of a political party depends on the people, he said that RPP Nepal is not in favor of an active monarchy but in favor of a Hindu nation. #Nepal #politics #politicianshttps://t.co/3XcsY08RrF

Prem Ale added that if the demand to declare Nepal a Hindu Nation comes, he “will play a constructive role”. “As the present five-party coalition Government enjoys close to a two-thirds majority in Parliament, the demand to declare Nepal a Hindu Nation can be put into the referendum,” he pointed out. Nepal could have been declared a Hindu Nation through referendum by now, as the majority of the citizens in Nepal are Hindus.
