Mamata Banerjee calls on all opposition parties to unite and oppose central investigation agencies
Editorial comment
Please note that Banerjee is opposing the investigating agencies as she fears that the probe will expose her Party’s corruption and its anti-national activities. |
Kolkata (Bengal) – Mamata Banerjee has written to all the opposition leaders and Chief Ministers and given a call for them to unite and take a stand against the injustice unleashed by the BJP Government at the Centre, through the Central Investigating agencies.
1. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee writes in her letter, that the agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED), CBI, CVC, and the Income-tax department are used to target, harass, trap in a vindictive way all the opposition leaders countrywide. Hence, all should unite and prevent the BJP’s misuse of the Central Agencies. I urge that all meet at one place according to the convenience and suitability of all to deliberate on the way forward.
2. Mamata Banerjee added that ‘she has the highest regard for the judiciary; but at present due to biased interference of certain political parties, people are not getting justice. Which is dangerous for our democracy. In our democracy judiciary, media and people are its important pillars. If any of them is disrupted then the entire system collapses’.
