Indian Government should mark our maritime boundaries with Pakistan and Sri Lanka so that fishermen adhere to them. Indian fishermen are facing this problem for many years, but it is shameful that none of the Governments has so far not tried to find a solution to this problem ! |
Colombo (Sri Lanka) – Sri Lankan Navy arrested 16 Indian fishermen alleging them to have poached in the country’s territorial waters. Their two motorboats have also been confiscated. All the fishermen are from Tamil Nadu.

In the last month too, a few Indian fishermen were arrested by Sri Lankan Navy but were later released on India taking a firm stand on the issue.
