New Delhi – “Those who are raising the Hijab issue are repeatedly giving the reference of Sharia. According to Sharia, Muslims cannot stay in a country where the Sharia law is not implemented. In Islam, there are restrictions on a woman’s freedom of speech as well. The Sharia doesn’t give the right to women to raise their voice in public, and hence, shouting ‘Allah hu Akbar’ in a college is an inappropriate act by the girl in Karnataka”, said Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan in an interview to a news channel. He added that if someone wishes to follow Sharia, it should be followed completely or not at all !
After some college students in Karnataka protested lawfully against the girl wearing burqa, she started shouting ‘Allah-hu-Akbar’. Arif Mohammad Khan was responding to this incident.
Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Karnataka #HijabRow: Hijab is not part of Islam. This word has been mentioned 7 times in the Quran, but not in the context of the dress code. The controversy around hijab is part of a conspiracy to hamper the education of Muslim women.

Governor Arif Mohammad Khan added,
1. As mentioned in Islamic books, wearing of Hijab isn’t mandatory, and hence, it can’t be compared with the hair, bracelets or the kirpan of Sikhs. Many people in the country are unhappy with the ban on triple talaq and therefore, they are trying to create such conflicts.
2. Why don’t you check if the Muslim girls are getting proper education ? How many Muslim girls are going to school ? How many of them are selected for IAS or IPS ? The population of the country is 125 crores. Just a handful of women are speaking in favour of the Hijab. By projecting these women, one cannot claim that their voice is the voice of the Nation.
3. Asaduddin Owaisi (President of AIMIM) had said in a public meeting that a day would come when a woman in Hijab will become the Prime Minister of India. On this, Arif Mohammad Khan said that these are baseless words. The one who is chosen by the country will become the Prime Minister.
