Female Congress candidate refuses to stand for elections in Uttar Pradesh !
Allegation of an indecent remark by the party’s District President
Editorial Comment
The Congress President is a female and the Congress party leader in Uttar Pradesh is also a female. Despite this, if these allegations of the harassment of women in this party are true, how can we guarantee the safety of women throughout the nation if such a party comes to the power ?
Laxmanpuri (UP) – Farah Naeem, the Congress candidate from Shekhupur Assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun, has resigned from the party over alleged indecent remarks made by the party’s District president, Onkar Singh. She has demanded action be taken against him. She has also sent a letter regarding this to Congress General Secretary Priyanka Vadra.

Farah Naeem said in the letter, “Party District president Onkar Singh said Muslim women should not get a ticket and that I’m a characterless woman. Women are not safe in the District unit. Despite the sincere service to Congress, I am accused ! This is very hurtful ! Omkar Singh has used vulgar language while talking and has tried many times to cancel my ticket.
