Adv. Kabil Sibbal, leader of the Congress pleaded for the petitioner in the Court. Sibbal said that Supreme Court had given the orders in their earlier verdicts for appointing a nodal officer (An officer responsible for a specific project) to take action against such gatherings. Such gatherings are likely in the States in which elections have been declared. Hence, the case should be heard at the earliest. Violence was instigated through these gatherings. Therefore, if the respective people are not arrested then that will spoil the atmosphere in the country.
On 10th January Kabil Sibbal urged to take up the case for hearing at the earliest, hence, the case was taken up for hearing on 12th January. This petition has been filed in the Supreme Court concerning the so-called hate speeches in the two Dharma Sansads organised at Haridwar on 17th and 19th December by Yati Narsimhanand and Hindu Yuva channel in Delhi. A petition has been filed against the Home Ministry, Delhi Police Commissioner and Director General of police of Uttarakhand.
