Shri Narasimha Anjaneyar Swamy Temple at Varadarajapuram is 30 years old. In the year 2015, the district collector Amuda had inspected the Temple and after verifying the documents, said that the Temple was not built by encroachment; however, municipal officials have claimed that the Temple was built on an encroached site. In 2017, there were floods in this area. According to the Administration, the floodwaters could not recede due to the Temple being constructed on a waterway. The administration had earlier also tried twice to demolish the Temple, however, due to the opposition of the devotees, those efforts were thwarted.
