Supreme Court directs to seal all investigation records in the breach of PM Modi’s security in Punjab
New Delhi – The Supreme Court has directed all travel and communication records of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the entire evidence found by the investigating agencies regarding the inexcusable security breach during the PM’s visit to Punjab to be sealed and preserved. The Court also asked the Punjab Police Officers, National Security Guard, SPG and other agencies to co-operate and take necessary steps to seal the complete record. The Court passed the order during a hearing on a petition filed by advocate Maninder Singh in this regard.
During the hearing, the Centre and the Punjab Government objected to each other’s inquiry committees. The senior advocate Maninder Singh demanded that the National Investigation Agency be involved in the investigation, while the Punjab Government said its committee was already investigating the matter.
After hearing all the arguments, the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing till 10th January. The Court has directed the Centre and the State Governments to hold the proceedings till 10th January.
