In the 1971 war, Pakistan Army had demolished this temple. Later the temple was restored. Pakistan had killed more than 250 Hindus here, including men, women, and children.

When the Pakistan Army attacked the temple, Priest Shrimath Swami Parmanand Giri held Devi’s Idol in his hands to protect it, but the Pak Army killed him.
