Two corona variant ‘Omicron’ patients found in Karnataka : Centre
New Delhi – The Health Ministry on Thursday confirmed that two cases of Omicron Covid variant have been found in Karnataka. “All Omicron related cases are found to have mild symptoms so far. In all such cases in the country and across the world so far, no severe symptom has been noted. There is no need to fear, but all precautions must be taken,” Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Union Health Ministry said. Two men, aged 46 and 66 have been detected with the variant virus.

55% of the cases found in Kerala and Maharashtra
Lav Agarwal said the coronavirus cases are reducing steadily since the last month. 15 Districts still have positive Covid-19 detections of more than 10%, which is worrying. In 18 Districts, the detection is 5-10%. In Kerala and Maharashtra, more than 10,000 patients are undergoing treatment. These two States have more than 55% of cases in the country.
49% of citizens have been fully vaccinated
Agarwal further said, 49% of citizens have received both doses of the vaccination. We have launched a home vaccination campaign. Presently, 99,763 Covid-19 patients are undergoing treatment. In the last 24 hours, 9,765 new cases of Covid-19 have been found.
