Enact a law to free temples from Govt control : VHP urges the Central and State Govts
Demand for an anti-conversion law as well
Editorial comment
Hindus should not have to demand such things. The Central Government should proactively enact laws for the welfare of Hindus. |
New Delhi: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has appealed to the Centre as well as to all State Governments to enact a law to free Hindu temples and religious institutions from Government control and has demanded an anti-conversion law. VHP’s International Working President Alok Kumar told reporters.
“A representation has been submitted to the government and we are hopeful that it will consider it”, the VHP saidhttps://t.co/4HrfeHCA7v

He added,
Mass conversions in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are induced by allurement, deception and fear. The VHP shall resist such conversions with all its might and will intensify its campaign to bring the converted brothers and sisters back to the Hindu Dharma.
Like Uttar Pradesh and other States, the Telangana Government should also pass an anti-conversion law. We have urged the Central Government to enact a law against religious conversions. A representation has been submitted to the Government and we are hopeful that it will consider it. VHP will take up a mass awakening programme on both issues.
Telangana Government should also come up with laws to protect cows and their progeny as there are increasing incidents of cow slaughter in Telangana State.
