Chaudhary was a carpenter by profession. He was living with his family next to Tapkara Mosque. Both of his children are physically disabled. The religious fanatics called Chaudhary to the Melatand area and beat him up. The incident took place just 50 metres from the Police Station. (This shows that the religious fanatics are no longer afraid of the Police ! – Editor) Tensions flared in the village as soon as the news of Chaudhary’s death broke out. The mob staged an agitation at Tapkara Police Station. In the presence of BJP MLA Koche Munda, the officials provided assistance of Rs 20,000 to Chaudhary’s family. MLA Munda demanded that the Police conduct an impartial enquiry into the matter. (It is a shame that an MLA has to make such a demand to the Police! – Editor)
