Defence Ministry issues notification to dissolve Ordnance Factory Board, form seven new DPSUs
New Delhi – Ordnance Factory Board (OFD) has been dissolved. It is being transformed into 7 new establishments, announced Prime Minister Modi in an online programme. OFD has 41 factories producing ammunition and weapons in 10 States. All these are being divided among 7 establishments. Around 75 thousand employees are working on this Board. None of them will be removed but they will be assimilated into these establishments as central employees. This process will be completed within the next 2 years.
The decision to carve out 7 new defence firms from the Ordnance Factory Board stems from PM @narendramodi Ji’s steely resolve to build a strong Atmanirbhar Bharat. pic.twitter.com/VWku3iANjp
