Orissa High Court refuses to interfere in Govt order to limit the height of Idol of Shridurga Devi to 4 feet during Navratri
Bhubaneswar (Odisha) – The Orissa High Court has refused to intervene in the State Government’s order limiting the height of the Idol of Shridurga Devi to 4 feet during Navratri. The Court’s verdict came as a response to a petition seeking the construction of an 8-foot Idol of Shridurga Devi, which was filed by the Balu Bazar Pooja Committee.

The Court said, ‘The State Government had last year delayed in issuing an order limiting the height of the Idol. Until then, Idols were made by many worship committees. Therefore, Idols of more than 4 feet height were allowed. This year, however, the Government has passed the order in August and hence, no concession can be given’.
