Rs. 5,000 fine for obscuring vehicle number plates
New Delhi – Many two-wheelers, four-wheeler drivers tie lemon-chilli, black thread to their vehicles. Some people tie it on the vehicle number plate. Some people do it to hide their number plates. According to new traffic laws if someone is attempting this or in any other way the vehicle number plates are hidden, will be subjected to Rs. 5,000 penalty. Although this law has not been passed yet in Maharashtra, Delhi traffic Police have implemented it.
Delhi police have called upon people – ‘if you see such cars, post its picture on Police’s Facebook, Twitter, etc social media accounts.’
