‘Islamic State will not win’, Biden said in a news conference. He said, ‘We will evacuate American citizens and others from Afghanistan under any circumstances. Our mission will continue. The US will not be intimidated by these cowardly attacks, but we will find the terrorists and annihilate them’. On the other hand, the Islamic State of Khorasan, a jihadist militant group, has claimed responsibility for the bombing.
I will defend our people and our interests with every measure at my command.

Islamic State, Taliban, and Haqqani Network behind the airport attack – Former Afghan Vice-President Amrullah Saleh claims
Speaking about the attack outside Kabul airport, former Afghan Vice-President Amrullah Saleh has claimed that Islamic State, the Taliban, and the Haqqani network have links. ‘Every evidence we have in hand shows that IS-K (Islamic State of Khorasan) cells have their roots in Taliban and Haqqani network particularly the ones operating in Kabul. Taliban denying links with ISIS is similar to the denial of Pakistan on Quetta Shura. Taliban have learned very well from their master (Pakistan)’, Saleh tweeted.
What is the ‘Islamic State of Khorasan’?
The Islamic State of Khorasan is a terrorist organisation affiliated with the Islamic State in Central Asia. Islamic State militants spread in Syria and Iraq in 2014. A few months later, the Islamic State of Khorasan was formed. ‘Khorasan’ means the territory consisting of North-eastern Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan! Initially, the organisation recruited hundreds of Pakistani Talibs. Pakistani forces launched an operation to drive the militants out of the country. The militants then took refuge in the border area. The fundamentalists strengthened this organisation. Some disgruntled militants from the Taliban have also joined the organisation.
Islamic State has divided the world into 20 parts. These include the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, the Islamic State of Gaza, and the Islamic State of Libya. Similarly, the Islamic State of Khorasan and the Greater Khorasan are the territories declared by the Islamic State. This includes countries in Khurasan as well as India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
