Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh passes away
Lucknow (UP) – On 21st August, Kalyan Singh, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and BJP leader breathed his last in the hospital at the age of 89. He was hospitalised for a month. He served twice as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

He had been the Governor of Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. He was one of the key leaders in the agitation to build the Shriram Temple in Ayodhya. He was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh during the demolition of the Babri Masjid. President Kovind, PM Narendra Modi, Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu, Home Minister Amit Shah, Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and many others have condoled over the death. His last rites are to be held at the bank of River Ganga in Narora on 23rd August. UP CM Yogi Adityanath has announced a 3-day State mourning and a public holiday will be observed on 23rd August.
