Somnath temple proof that terrorist ideology cannot destroy humanity for long : PM Modi
Online inauguration of renovation of Somnath temple by Prime Minister Modi
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) – ‘Faith cannot be ended by terror. Somnath Temple is the inspiration of our faith. There were several attempts to wipe off the existence of the Somnath temple. The more times it was demolished, the more times it was rebuilt. Terrorism cannot harm humanity for long. Also, its existence cannot be permanent, as is evident from the history of the Somnath Temple’, asserted Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was speaking online while attending the renovation program of Somnath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas on the coast of Gujarat. “The world is still plagued by terrorist ideology, while the Somnath Temple is a symbol of a prosperous India”, Modi said. Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, and senior leader LK Advani were also present on the occasion.

Modi further said, “I salute Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar. She restored many temples from Kashi Vishwanath to Somnath. Somnath has remained the land of Sadashiv for ages. It is said in Hindu Dharmashastra that the one who does welfare is Shiva. And hence, Shiva is beyond our faith. The Somnath Temple is a place that has been described by our sages as a ‘realm of knowledge’ for thousands of years. Today, the temple challenges the whole world with the message, ‘Truth cannot be defeated by falsehood’.”
